Detail
Waste separation today uses color coding to categorize waste types. Green is for organic waste like rotten vegetables and fruits, yellow for recyclables like glass, paper, plastic, and metal, blue for non-biodegradable and non-recyclable waste such as plastic wrappers and foam, and red for hazardous waste like fluorescent bulbs, medicine bottles, and spray cans. However, some types of waste are not covered, such as expired and leftover medications, leading to contamination with household waste and disposal into landfills, causing environmental pollution.
